Our business was founded in 1983 and went on line in 2001. Our motto is that "nobody must be disappointed." This means that even when we make mistakes we will move heaven and earth to put matters right so as to achieve a happy ending for our customer.

In all our dealings we are fully compliant with the 2013 Consumer Contracts Regulations which define the obligations of on line traders in the EU.


Age verification

If you are in the UK we need to know your date of birth as it is illegal to sell a knife to anyone under the age of 18. In addition we will verify your age before we send any goods. We have taken advice from the Trading Standards Service to ensure we comply with the letter and spirit of the law.


Making a purchase securely

All payments received through our website are fully secure and we are compliant with all the necessary security requirements including the PCI Data Security Standard, a worldwide security standard developed to protect cardholders' personal information.

Purchases from the website can be made using a credit card, debit card or Paypal. You can also make a purchase with a credit or debit card over the telephone.


Returns policy

If on receipt of your purchase you find any fault with one of our knives you have two options: a full refund or replacement.

If you want a full refund or a replacement please return the item within 14 days. We will also refund the cost of the return postage. When returning a faulty knife we would be grateful if you would contact us first to agree what class of postage is appropriate.

All refunds are made back into the account used by the customer to make the purchase.

We will also accept returns of any unwanted goods and provide a full refund provided that:

  • you return the goods in unused condition and where relevant, the original packaging,
  • you pay the return postage,
  • you post the goods within two weeks of receiving them.

We undertake to provide a full refund for the price you paid for the goods, excluding our postage charge, as soon as we receive the returned item(s).

Failure of our products in use

If used and maintained correctly our knives will outlast their owners. When we dispatch a knife we include advice on care and maintenance.

If a knife fails in normal use we will repair or replace it free of charge.

In all our dealings we work within the Data Protection Act 1998.

What we won't do

We live in the Information age and many organisations play fast and loose with personal data. We are completely committed to protecting the privacy of our customers so we will not do any of the following:

  • bombard you with emails telling you about our latest offers (you will only hear from us in relation to any orders you place or enquiries you make)
  • pass on any of your details to third parties unless at your express request (eg if you want one of our suppliers to contact you). The only exception is of course the Post Office who need to know your address and, sometimes, a contact telephone number.
  • identify you in any Facebook or other social media posts (unless with your express permission)


Purchases from outside the European Union

There are no import/export duties on goods shipped within the European Union.

Goods we send to destinations outside the European Union may be subject to impoort duties and taxes. It is a legal requirement that we declare the full value of the goods so that the authorities in the receiving country can determine whether import duties or taxes apply.
